AM Raychel
Producing / Artistc Director
A.M. Raychel
founded the Theatre - Studio Inc. in 1980. She studied
directing with Lee Strasberg and Acting under the tutelage of
Uta Hagen, as well as with Herbert Berghov and Harold Clurman.
She has taght in The New School, NYU, Baruch College and the
Eugene O'Neil Theatre Center and directed over 100 full lenght
plays. In 1993 Ms Raychel instituted the TSI / Playtime Series
as a way of providing a supportive environment and free
perfomance space where playwrights, directors and actors could
present and develop their work. Her goal was and is to expand
the reach of "theatre" to be more inclusive of more talent and
thus bring new creative forces into the theatrical comunity
which otherwise might be prevented from flourishing due to the
prohibitive cost of perfoming space in the city of New York.
